Privacy Policy for mykyta Record

This policy applies to the mykyta Record — Screen Recorder & MP4 Chrome extension. Mykyta Frolov, the independent developer operating mykyta.app from Belgium, is responsible for the extension.

The mykyta.app website that hosts this policy is a separate service and is covered by the general mykyta.app privacy notice.

The extension accesses media only after you start a recording and make the relevant choice or grant permission in Chrome.

• A browser tab captured through Chrome's tab-capture permission, when you choose the current-tab option.
• A tab, application window or screen that you explicitly select in Chrome's screen-sharing chooser.
• Microphone audio when you enable the microphone and grant Chrome permission.
• Shared tab or system audio when the selected source and Chrome support it and you enable audio sharing.
• The resulting recording may contain website content or personal communications visible or audible in the source you selected. The extension uses that content only to create your local recording.

Recording, audio mixing and video encoding happen locally in Chrome on your device. When supported, the extension writes MP4 data directly and sequentially to the file location you choose, which avoids keeping the full recording in memory.

If direct file access is unavailable, the extension can use Chrome's private Origin Private File System as temporary local storage until you export the recording. After a successful export, it attempts to remove that temporary copy.

• Your saved recording remains where you chose to save it and stays under your control.
• Preferences such as language and recorder settings, plus limited session state needed to keep the recording window working, are stored locally through Chrome storage.
• The extension does not provide cloud storage or online sharing in this version.

The extension does not send recordings, microphone audio, shared audio, captured website content or personal communications to mykyta.app or to third parties. It does not collect analytics, use advertising trackers, create user accounts or sell personal data.

The extension includes no remote code and does not use captured content for advertising, profiling, credit decisions or any purpose unrelated to making the recording you requested.

The extension requests only the Chrome extension permissions needed for its core recording workflow.

• tabCapture: captures the browser tab you ask the extension to record, including its audio when available.
• storage: saves local preferences and short-lived recording session status so the recorder can operate reliably outside the extension popup.
• Microphone and screen-sharing access are requested by Chrome at the moment you enable or select them. Chrome controls those permission prompts.
• The extension does not request broad website access and does not inject content scripts into pages.

Saved video files remain on your device until you move or delete them. Local preferences remain until you change them, clear the extension's data or uninstall the extension. Temporary recording data is kept only as needed to complete or recover an export and is removed after a successful export when possible.

Uninstalling the extension removes its Chrome-managed local storage. Files you already saved outside the extension are not deleted automatically.

You decide what to record, whether to include microphone or shared audio, where to save the result and when to stop. You can revoke microphone access in Chrome settings and cancel Chrome's source chooser without starting a recording.

Keeping processing local reduces data exposure, but recordings may contain sensitive information from the selected source. Review the source before recording and protect or delete the saved file as appropriate.

The effective date is shown above. If the extension's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the new practice applies where reasonably possible.
